Because information about Andrew in the Gospels is relatively limited and most extra-Gospel sources are legendary, the author reconstructs his life from various fragments of the Gospel accounts. Using this approach, the book places Andrew within key events in Jesus' public life to depict his experiences, reactions, and character development as a disciple shaped directly by the Master.
