Job's Daughters: Women and Power (1990 Madeleva Lecture in Spirituallity)
The author gives a brilliant review of women's historical powerlessness that compares women to Job as the archetypal innocent victim and uses Rollo May's categories of power (exploitative, competitive, manipulative, nurturing, and integrative) for further analysis of women's current situation. He finishes by proposing an international agenda for gaining equality that will contribute to world development and peace. This splendid book is highly recommended for all libraries, for general readers, and for specialists in peace, justice, women's issues, and religion.
