St. John’s Prologue
As its title suggests, this book emphasizes the joyful character of the Christian faith and shows how, by responding to God as the giver of joy, man can find that ‘joy unspeakable’ which Christ came to bring. The book is in three parts. The first is a study of the nature of Christian joy, the second consists of meditation upon each of the Beatitudes, and the third considers joy, in terms of its demands, as a necessity for life in God. The whole is pervaded by the deep faith and true joy of its blind author.
