History of the Old Testament
The following is a synopsis and summary of the theme based on the concept 'History of the Old Testament': The Holy Because I Yahweh your God am Holy. The Old Testament (OT) is not just a collection of ancient historical stories, but a story about God's (Yahweh) initiative to reveal Himself and establish a covenant with mankind who had fallen into sin. The essence of this history is God's call for His people to live in holiness (faithfulness, separation from idolatrous practices, and moral life), which is based directly on God's own Holy character. Through narratives from Genesis to Malachi, OT history shows the dynamic relationship between a holy God and an often rebellious people, where God remains faithful to His promise to bless and save the world through Abraham's descendants.
