The Orthodox Ethos (Vol.I): Essays in Honour of the Centenary of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America
Our aim is the modest one of offering the reader a representative selection of the workings of contemporary Orthodox theology. Many of the subjects treated here are the main interest of the contributors, who have written extensively elsewhere on these themes. This book written to show us that their understanding of their subjects falls into the pattern which is the living tradition of Orthodox Christianity, especially in its Greek form. Besides that, this book allow us to see them wrestling with basic problems in an attempt to show that Orthodox theology is not the repetition of old formulas, but a living enterprise, carried on in the presence of God and for the service of God and His people.
