A Short History of the Catholic Church
The history of the Catholic Church began with Jesus and the Apostles, developed rapidly after Emperor Constantine granted religious freedom (313 AD) and held the Council of Nicaea (325 AD) which strengthened the doctrine, with the Bishop of Rome (Pope) playing an important role as the successor of Peter; then spread throughout the world including Indonesia through the Portuguese in the 16th century, faced divisions (Protestant Reformation) and continued to develop with the structure of dioceses and religious orders, until now it has become a universal Church that exists throughout the world.
