<note>The Life of Sister Marie de St. Pierre of the Holy Family (often referred to as the Life of Sister Mary St. Peter, Carmelite of Tours) is a biography detailing the life and mystical experiences of the 19th-century French Carmelite nun, Sr. Marie de St. Pierre (1816–1848). Born Perrine Éluère on October 4, 1816, in Rennes, Brittany, France, she professed the Discalced Carmelite vows under the name Sister Marie de Saint-Pierre et de la Sainte Famille on June 8, 1841. While in the convent, Sr. Marie received a series of private revelations from Jesus. Jesus revealed that the sins of blasphemy and profanation of Sunday deeply offended Him. Sr. Marie died on July 8, 1848, of tuberculosis, at the age of 31, before the devotion was officially approved by the Vatican (it was finally approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1885). Overall, this book describes the spiritual journey of a simple nun who was chosen to promote one of the Catholic devotions that focuses on veneration of the Holy Face and Name of God.</note>
