<note>First he speaks the most profound of thoughts in the language of the people. William Barclay is a great human being Nearly all his life has been spent in the vital earthinees of the West of scotland. A place where humanity is real. To hear William Barclay speak is to feel the earthenees and reality of life. He speaks to humanity with understanding. Distinet from man because of the brilliance of his mind, he is a man who knows men, their feelings and their needs. The magic of Barclay comes out too in his common inheritance with suffering humanity. He is deaf and that makes him part of human pain. He and Mrs Barclay lost a daughter in a drowning accident a terrible blow but it gave him an understanding of human sorrow that helps him bring comfort to people in pain.</note>
