The writer of this book, in the Conclusion, quotes the words of Pope Pius XI on the value of the Contemplative Orders, words of such lapidary precision and emphasis as to form a fitting crowning scroll upon the edifice of the eulogies of the past, and to render wholly unnecessary here any attempt at emulation. Rather would I profit by the privilege offered me of writing these few lines to remind the reader of what to look for in the pages of this most interesting book.
