An essay in Catholic Morals: perhaps this title may surprise some of our readers. The may ask if Catholic morality is not something that has been determines once for all and if so whether there is any need to be constantly discussing it from different point of view. Revelation did not drop from Heaven to Earth like a meteorite in the desert . On the contrary, our Lord came to accomplish a work duly announced and for which the ground had been prepared. His teaching was addressed to a people already in possession of a moral system both natural and revealed, anticipating the revelation brought by him. Side by side with Revelation and Philosophy we have to deal with Theology as well. This we many define as human thought at work on the data of Faith to which it applies all the resources of the human intellect in order to comprehend and systematize them, at the same time drawing from them the implications that they contain.
