The Constitution on Divine Revelation Dei Verbum is one of the two dogmatic texts issued by the Second Vatican Council. In this book two Irish scholars, an exegete and a theologian, offer what is in effect an Introduction to the Bible: a detailed commentary on the Constitution, indicating the new insights into the nature of God's self-revealing, the development of the Church's understanding of the Scriptures and the state of biblical criticism today.
