Readings in Sacramental Theology
During recent years, theologians and religious educators who have had their fingers on the pulse of our times have examined together the problems of the liturgy at various meetings. They have seen the liturgy as flowing from the nature of the Church, and they have come to focus on the Church as the foundation sacrament. While studying the Church, the primordial sacrament, they have considered the other sacraments of the liturgy within the incarnational structure. Thus, the whole liturgy has appeared as the exercise of the priesthood of Christ whereby sanctification is bestowed on man through symbolic activities, the sacraments.
