It is possible that these are both sins of our time. The Blessed Trinity is seldom preached from the Christian pulpit. The only things that are written about it are learned studies on special points for which theologians need a very strong lens to see them clearly. These works are necessary for the honour of learning and of the Church, and certainly the theologian also draws spiritual food from them to help him to the contemplation of God; for it is enthralling to live again the unfolding drama of faith through the eyes of past generation.
