Orthodox Potential: Collected Essays
I see the potential as a double potential. The first of this two-fold potential is the more general one which I have tried to suggest explicitly in the last essay, that is, that we, as Orthodox, in our particular attitude and approach, may have something to contribute in a wide variety of contemporary problems. This is, as it were, the impersonal potential. But, the second potential, as I see it, is the more intimate, and perhaps, therefore, the more relevant. What we have written here is personal, and experienced in daily living. The stuff of the essays is at the very core of the faith which went into the founding of our tiny monastery. An I feel that this actual experience can be shared by others, not necessarily monks or nuns. And, we also see these essays as pointing the potential of the harmony of the heart and of the mind into the future.
