The article on spirit of God is one of the longest in Kittel's Worterbuch, and in order to bring it within the range of this series, it has been necessary to omit some of the material. The principle I have followed is to include only those parts which are directly relevant to the concept of the Spirit of God. This translation therefore begins with the section by Friederich Baumgartel on the Old Testament, this is followed by a part of Erik Sjoberg's section on Rabbanic Judaism, and the remainder represents the important contribution of Edward Schweizer, culminating in his exhaustive treatment of here.
