One hundred years ago, in April, 1873. Father Constantine Scollen O.M.I. came to what is now the Diocese of Calgary, and from his first Mission twenty-five miles up the Elbow River set out to evangelize the Indians on the plains, and to minister to whatever Catholics there were among thee prospectors and adventurers in an almost empty land. One hundred years later this book is published to commemorate the work of the early missionaries, and the work of the secular priests and lay people of the Diocese of Calgary in building the visible fabric of the Church, and the commemorate their prayers and sacrifices for the growth of their Faith.
