The Moral Teaching of the New Testament
As the last section of our study has been intended to show, admonition in the early Church was by no means uniform, but bore the impress of the individual preacher. The who speak to us in the epistles of the New Testament are strong, spiritually independent personalities, and yet there all bear the common mark of Jesus' spirit. They are conscious of being bound by what he said. Vigorously and unflinchingly, they proclaim Jesus message to their own age, mitigating nothing of the Lord's commandments and demands.
