There is no reference to the name of the author in either Luke or Acts, but there are strong reasons for supposing that if we can establish the name of the author of either of these books then we shall also have the name of the author ao the other. Both Luke and Acts are dedicated to the mysterious 'Teophilus' and both works show many other similarities of vovabulary and style.
