The Book of Psalms (Vol.I)
In the commentary I have tried to be brief. The time is past when the exegete could afford to express his thought without having to consider problems of time or space or cost. I have aimed, particularly, at setting the psalm against the background of Hebrew religious thought. There are few verses in the psalms which have not parallels elsewhere, and often the obscurity of a passage vanishes when compared with other passages in which the same thought is clearly expressed.
