Although there has long been a demand for a small edition of the Psalter in the Westminster version such as the present, I have been anxious to bring out at least the first book of the psalms in the large edition beforehand, in order that I might refer to the fuller introduction which accompanies it for much that cannot be explained or justified here. I have taken the opportunity to revise the translation of the first book psalms, making some unimportant changes.
