A son of the eighteenth century, he saw fit to express himself with great precision. Thus, whilst he was a man of profound spiritual experience, he tried to put down as exactly as may be the truths which were the bedrock of his life. In examining these doctrines, an attempt is made in this book to see what is their relation to the traditional Catholicism of the Roman Catholic Church.
