Luigi Gentili: A Sower for the Second Spring
Luigi Gentili, born in Rome in 1801, was, ordained in 1830, joined the Institute of Charity arrived in England in 1835 and died of typhus fever in Dublin in 1848, two years before the restoration of the England hierarchy. During his last years the scope of his activities was so great, his influence as a result of them so beneficial to Catholic life in England and Ireland, and his personal holiness such, that he can rightly be called one of the glories of the Church in England as Father Leethan calls him in this brilliantly executed account of his life.
