My Enemy is My Guest: Jesus and Violence in Luke
Nonviolence is the most crucial issue in the western world today. It is a subject about which every Christian should be informed. This book is intended for that purpose; it offers some reflections based on critical examination of sacred scripture. Nonviolence has often been treated thematically but this book takes a different approach, that of redaction criticism the way that Luke has used his sources. It is not my claim that the entire New Testament even the four gospels teaches a nonviolence ethic.
