Happy was My Youth: A Study of Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows Passionist Student
The outline of the life of saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows can be told in a few sentences. He was born of good family in Assisi in 1838. He attended college in Spoleto until he was eighteen. He entered the Passionists in 1856 and spent less than six years in religion. He died at Isola in 1862 at the age of twenty four. Here for the first time in English is a thoroughly documented study of this attractive young saint, remarkable for his extraordinary devotion to Mary. The story of his short life and early death is presented in a vivid and fascinating style that is as readable as it is authoritative.
