Twelve Council Fathers
All of the interviews in this book are authentic, historical documents. They are, I believe,of considerable importance, for each Father of the Council took the opportunity to communicate his ideas, on key topics and issues of the Council, knowing that he would reach a large audience of important readers. In a number of cases, those readers may have read something like the ideas expressed by these Council Fathers- in works by modern theologians, Scripture scholars and others active in ecumenical work- but, however objectively possible and desirable many ideas are, they remain largely just so much intellectual delectation unless and until bishops take them up,approve them and promote them. Wherever that is done in this book - and it is done often - the reader will discern the importance of the interview.
