This book is An Australian Prayer Book 1978 for use together with the Book of Common prayer 1662. It is supplementary to The Book of Common Prayer and not a replacement of it. The Book of Common Prayer remains, together with the Thirty-nine Articles, our controlling standard of doctrine and worship. It is expected that both The Book of Common Prayer and An Australian Prayer Book is such that if the Church wishes to make necessary revisions it will be possible to do do.
