Every day of our lives we speak. We have to, speech is the quickest and best way of showing clearly what we mean. When we were born we were either hungry or uncomfortable, but our cries were in no way sufficient to tell people exactly what we wanted. This state of affairs went on for some time we were far too busy sleeping, feeding, struggling and enjoying life generally to have any interest in what is called speech
