100hlm; 14x21cm Professor Ludwig Bieler was born in Vienna in 1906 and was educated at the Landstrasser Gymnasium and the University of Vienna. After attending the Universities of Tubingen and Munich he lectured in classics in the Universities of Vienna. From 1940 to 1946 Professor Bieler was visiting lecturer in Latin Palaeography and Medieval Latin in University College, Dublin , and during the following year he was Assistant Professor of Classics at Notre Dame University, Indiana.
