Beyond that, this phenomenon is central to the works which this study proposes to examine and criticize: those of Gabriel Marcel, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. The latter two explicitly claim that their perspective theories are phenomenological, in the Husserlian sense; that of M.
