The God-question is the fundamental theological question. The present book is intended as a strong plea to give it that status once again. True enough, there is no lack of publications on the God-question; for the most part, however, these limit themselves to a discussion of modern atheism. The Christian understanding of God, the God of Jesus Christ, and thus the confession of triune God are usually brought in only as a kind of appendix and without any closer study of the problems involved.
