The Dignity of the Human Person in Pancasila and the Church's Social Doctrine: An Ethical Comparative Study
The part concerning Pancasila is a very thorough study of the social vision enshrined in this way of life and in particular of the way the dignity of the human person is fundamental to this vision. The part concerning the social doctrine of the Catholic Church is very well done but perhaps not quite as complete as the first part. Pressures of time did not permit him to make as through an examination of the corpus of social doctrine as would be desireable. The comparative section is very informative and interesting on the points of convergence and divergence in the two systems. He shows very well how close the two systems are to each other regarding the dignity of the human person and the possibility of collaboration between the followers of both to bring about a society in which the dignity of the human person would be fully recognized.
