It has also been a time of reckoning and renewal for Christianity as experienced by Vatican Council II and the soul searching of Christian denominations. The last 50 years have indeed been a preparation for the coming of the new millennium, a new hopeful time of peace, peace in the Middle East, and peace in the world.
