Oscar Cullmann intended for a long time to write something about the New Testament doctrine of Baptism. The general discussion of the justification of infant Baptism which has been provoked by Karl Barth's booklet on The Teaching of the Church concerning Baptism forbids me to wait any longer. Oscar hold it for an error to deal with the question of infant Baptism in isolation, as has too often happened in Church discussions. He can therefore only deal with this live problem of the day (and not of the day only) according to my original plans, within the framework of a complete review of the matter.
