The project was also looking at the various aspects of the life of becak drivers, generally slum dwellers socially located at the bottom of society. Mention should be made of a similar research work done by staf members of the Department of Planology at the Institute of Technology Bandung who concerned themselves with the becak transportation in Bandung.
