The Little Rethoric and Handbook with Readings is a combination of the second edition of The Little Rhetoric and handbook and a gathering of some thirty prose readings. By adding readings to The Little Rhetoric and Handbook, I hope to enhance its usefulness for those who appreciate having a rhetoric and a reader and a handbook all under a single cover. At the same time, I hope that I have preserved those features that teachers and students valued most in earlier editions. An essential feature of this book has always been its small size, and of course, even with minor deletions, the addition of readings has enlarged the book somewhat. However, I think you will still find The Little Rhetoric and Handbook with Readings a compact-and now more useful and complete-text for teaching composition.
