The History of Science and Technology: A Narrative Chronology (Vol.II): 1900-1970
History and science, two of the main products of written communication, have only appeared very recently if we consider the entire time that the human race has existed. But we have evidence of manufactured products materials that were internationally modified for an increasingly widening and more specialized range of uses from hundreds of thousands of years ago. The seeds of cultivated plants and the bones of domesticated animals appear much later, signs of a revolution in techniques and production based on the ability to predict and control biological events. Still later, the remains of town walls trace the boundaries of cities, in which a hostile outer world was separate from an inner world dominated by the temple.
