In pursuit of its object of furnishing teaching aids in inexpensive form to younger students and to the general public, MIMEP seeks in the present volume to make it easier to understand the Old Testament. Liturgical reform, to which catechetical instruction is being adapted, makes it absolutely necessary for the faithful to have at least some knowledge of the basic elements of the history and institutions of the Old Testament.
