The epistle to the Galatians is one of St. Paul most important writings. Its main concern is the problem of the influence of extraneous religious practices on belief in God as revealed through Christ. In discussing the problem, St. Paul gives his decision on matters important not only in the new Christian community, but also in more mature Christian communities.
