It is with great satisfaction that I present to you the Global Plan of the General Council for the six-year term 2007-2013. For several months we have met to study all of the proposals and recommendations approved by the recent General Chapter of 2007, examine our current situation, single out the main needs, and also to open up new horizons and possibilities for growth, whether geographical, spiritual, cultural, etc. The challenges of all kinds which lie before us are many, but many also are our hopes and plans, and great is our desire to serve the Order and the Carmelite Family in the best way possible. This global plan which we now offer to you is in a way the fulfilment of that desire, and why not of our dream to carry on growing, maturing, going deeper, sowing building the Kingdom of God from the Carmelite charism.
