God Among Us: The Gospel Proclaimed
Although his name has become widely known as a result of controversy over his books on Jesus and the nature of ordained ministry, Edward Schillebeeckx is above all a pastoral theologian, concerned to preach the gospel to man and women of the modern world. This book shows how he does it. It contains a series of occasional pieces given as lectures or sermons, together with articles on related themes. A first group takes the reader through the Christian year, from Advent to Easter; a second group follows the main clauses of the Creed, from belief in God as Creator to resurrection of the body and eternal life; the last groups is concerned with spirituality and as well as important articles on Christian identity and obedience also has a long discussion of Dominican spirituality and perhaps the piece de resistance of the whole work an attractive pen-portrait of the great Dominican scholar Albertus Magnus.
