One of the earliest letters received by the Secretariat for Justice and Peace here in Rome was from Joseph Chevrot, of the province of Lyon, describing the work of his province confreres among the poor. What struck me about his description was the fact that, in his eyes, all the communities were somehow engaged with the poor, it was not the work of a selected few.
