Whereas most books on the Eucharist concentrate on a narrow aspect of it, Prof Lash's book considers the rite as a whole, and the rite itself within the total context of Christianity in the world. Believing that Christianity is about 'being human in a new way' and about 'the recovery' and the discovery, of human brotherhood', he proclaims the Eucharist as both an expression and a creator of this new humanity.
