The first section of The Imperial Church from Constantine to the Early Middle Ages deals with religious and political adjustment that followed the conversion of Constantine, and with the theological controversies and inner life of the Church from Nicaea to Chalcedon. The second section begins with the Henoticon and reaches through the age of Justinian to the Monotholite controversy.
