Reformation and Counter Reformation provides a wide ranging account of the reform movements of the sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries, with particular emphasis upon many aspects that have long been the preserve of the specialist. The attention given known collaborators of Luther and Catholic literary opponents is an example of this, as is the detailed treatment of the spread of Lutheranism into Scandanavia and Slavic lands and of Calvinism into Eastern Europe.
