Noncommercial television of diversity and excellence a new Public Television is the subject of this widely discussed report of the Carnegie Commission on Educational Television. Fifteen distinguished Americans, after a year of intensive study, recommend far reaching changes in noncommercial television to bring into being an ambitious system of Public Television, designed for the home viewer. In the preparation of this Report, visits were made to ninety two educational television stations in the United States and to seven foreign countries.
