In the Likeness of Sinful Flesh: An Essay on the Humanity of Christ
This unique, creative and thoroughly ecumenical study advances the contemporary regard for the humanity of Jesus but does so without jeopardizing His full and complete divinity. The work is divided into three parts. The first places the study in context by examining contemporary Christology with its emphasis on the humanity of Jesus. The second part surveys the theological history concerning the Incarnation and redemption to discern the evidence of Jesus' assumption of our sinful flesh, and how both Catholics and Protestants have supported such a view of Christ's humanity. Finally, a study of the New Testament demonstrates that the epistles and gospels support such a thesis and understand it to be critical for a proper understanding of the Incarnation and the work of redemption.
