Recent development in the biological sciences pose challenging questions to the church's theology and, especially, to the church's understanding of what it means to be human, that is, made in the image of God. Can Christians affirms both their own faith and the new genetics? Which of these scientific findings give Christians reason to rethink traditional church teachings? Where does the Christian tradition contain insights that might help Christians and society at large to assess the potential good, as well as evil, of new developments in genetic research?
