Issues and Alternatives is a survey of philosophies and philosophic issues that are relevant to the educational profession. It highlights the relationship between philosophic starting points and educational outcomes-between theory and practice. This textbook has been developed with brevity, breadth of coverage, and clarity of presentation as goals. There is no lack of medium-sized and larger textbooks on educational philosophy available, but there is a dearth of short introductory texts. In addition, the existing brief threatment generally do nor cover the full range of options.
