Jesus Christ: Fundamentals of Christology
In dialogue with contemporary concerns and controversies in the field of Christology, Father Roch Kereszty, O.Cist., presents in this book a penetrating and integral approach to the mystery of Christ which will have broad appeal to Roman Catholics, Protestants and Orthodox Christians alike. In these pages they will find and articulation of their common faith in Jesus, the Christ, true God and true man. The work begins with a consideration of the biblical texts which formulate what is irreducibly new in the person and work of Christ, then, dealing at length with patristic thought it provides a selective history of Christology up to the present day, and finally synthesis the results of these two inquiries in the light of modern concerns. Two appendices explore the universal significance of Christ and the Church to non Christian religious and to possible extraterrestrial intelligent beings as well. Though written as a Christology text on the graduate level, the book should interest any educated reader who seeks to know Jesus.
