The Letters of James and Peter
Dr. Barclay examines The Letter of James its authorship, its date, its curious omission of references to Jesus resurrection and Messiah ship, and the form in which it is cast and shows that works and faith are both essential aspects of the apostolic message. Dr. Barclay discusses the sense of the 'catholic' or 'general' epistles, its five basic theological ideas (the kerygma of the early church), its authorship and date, and the Greek Gentiles to whom it was addressed . He show that Second Peter, which is largely a denunciation of heretics and false teachers, can hardly have been written by the same man as First Peter.
